The Morris Museum will once again collaborate with the prestigious ACA Galleries to present a comprehensive view of New Jersey in art: NEW JERSEY THEN & NOW. Works from the collections of ACA Galleries and from the Morris Museum, dating as far back as a Morristown grave rubbing done in 1780, to powerful contemporary paintings by New Jersey native Chris Kappmeier, will highlight the image of the state and its impact on artists who were born here or lived and worked here.
Among the works to be on view are pieces by prominent artists such as Grace Hartigan, Ben Shahn, Faith Ringgold, Leonard Baskin and Henry Gasser.
After a highly successful African American Masters exhibition of works from ACA Galleries in 2007, the Morris Museum is delighted to collaborate again with ACA in presenting this important exhibition.
